Make Firefox Look Like Internet Explorer

Yes, it's true. There are some people that prefer the look of Internet Explorer to the way Firefox looks (though I've never met one). So, I've created this simple How To guide that shows you just what needs to be done to get Firefox looking just like IE. The goal of this project is mainly to demonstrate the power of Firefox's themes and extensions in making the browser work the way you want it to. There's even a pre-built profile for Firefox Portable.

Firefox Portable Profile 2.0

Is that Portable Internet Explorer? No, but it's close. This pre-built profile can be dropped into Mozilla Firefox - Portable Edition to make it look just like Internet Explorer. Just download the Portable Firefox Internet Explorer profile and unzip it to the profile directory of Firefox Portable after deleting the current contents (Usually FirefoxPortable\Data\profile). You will also need to download the icon package and unzip that to the FirefoxPortable\App\firefox directory if you want the Internet Explorer Icons. This profile is for Firefox Portable 2.0.

Online visibility and online traffic are, quite naturally, of paramount importance to everyone and anyone marketing or conducting business online, period.

While RSS will not perform as your key tool to improve online visibility and generate more traffic, its importance for helping you do so cannot be disputed.

It will help you:

increase your traditional search engine rankings;

improve your online visibility by making your content available where people are increasingly searching for new content, such as RSS search engines and content aggregation sites;

drive traffic from other websites covering your topic, by helping you make your content available at these websites more easily.

Who's Using What for RSS?

RSS is a funny old thing - once it takes hold in a person's daily routine it becomes as essential as checking ones email or reading the morning newspaper - but as far as mainstream usage goes, it's a long way from attaining widespread approval. The technology behind RSS is not the issue - it's just the underlying transport, like the ink and paper of traditional media. If RSS is to break into the mainstream, it's the means of delivery that will make it or break it.

Where traditional media has printed matter distributed in physical form, television has different channels, and websites have browsers, RSS is distributed through feedreaders. There are a variety of options available - some more popular than others. The following is a rundown of the current most popular feedreaders that are used to peruse Modern Life's own feed.
